Welcome to the Bodenham Parish Website. This is a new venture for the Parish, which is sponsored by the Parish Council and was initiated by it at its meeting on 5 October 2009 with the aim of:

• Providing a useful source of information about the Parish, both for residents and for those who live further afield, especially visitors.

• Encouraging community activities by publicising the wide range of events organised by local clubs, societies and other groups.

• Fostering local businesses by offering them a forum in which they can advertise their products and skills, not only to customers within the Parish, but also across Herefordshire and beyond.

Developing the Website

As will be obvious, the website is still in its early stages of development and much needs to be done if it is to achieve its full potential.

If you live in the Parish of Bodenham, this is your website, so, if you would like to help in taking the project forward - whether by providing photographs or writing text, by volunteering to be one of the editors who regularly keeps the information on the website up to date, or simply by offering suggestions on how the website can be usefully expanded and improved - we shall be delighted to hear from you. Businesses in Bodenham

We have contacted all the businesses which regularly advertise in the Bodenham Newsletter and, during this early stage in the development of the website, have offered them a place in the website’s Business Directory at no additional cost during 2010. You can find their entries here.

If you own one of these businesses and would like any change made to your listing, or if you do not have a listing at the moment and would like to have one, please contact Tony Mitcheson on 01568-797170 or .

At present the website offers businesses only fairly simple ‘advertisements’, but we are keen to improve on this as the project goes forward. If you have any suggestions on how this might be achieved, Tony Mitcheson would be very pleased to hear from you.

Clubs and Societies

We believe that the website will offer local clubs, societies and other groups a new means of spreading information about their activities and events, both locally in the Parish and beyond, and in the process help them to reach new members. We have contacted a number of groups already and you can find information about them here.

Funding of the Website

The initial construction of the website and the cost of its basic annual maintenance thereafter are being funded by Bodenham Parish Council out of the Parish precept. However, this means that the success of the project is heavily dependent on support by volunteers. If you are able to help in any way, please let us know by contacting one of the members of the Project’s Steering Group listed above.

This website provides one of the means by which Bodenham Parish Council complies with its statutory duties under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. A link to further details, including the Parish Council’s Publication Scheme, can be found at the bottom of each page of the Website.
