Bodenham Flood Protection Group Notice

A big thank-you to all those who attended the BFPG Easter Treasure Trail on Easter Monday. It was a resounding success, thanks to your support. Despite the bitter cold, the hail, snow and wind (!) we had 55 families turn out to enjoy playing detective for a couple of hours and went through approximately 90 Creme eggs!

There were only two entries who got all 30 clues correct, who each got two of the 3 larger Easter eggs. There were 6 entries with 29 correct answers so these were all put in a draw to find the one to take home the final prize. The first 1st prize winners, the Brierly family, are pictured below being presented with the egg by Event Co-ordinator Rebecca Burnill. The other winners were the Noble and Lewis families.

However, all who entered did fantastically well, there were no scores under 25, so congratulations to everyone! Maybe we need to make it harder next year 🙂.

We had a raffle, with two prizes of mixed punnets of berries generously donated by S & A Fruit Farms and a lovely tote bag kindly donated by Mrs Barbara Gibson. We also had nearly £100 in cash donations from various residents. So, a big thank you to everyone for the prizes/ donations. The Committee would also like to give a vote of thanks to other members of the Group who helped out on the day: Kay Clarke, Barry Carter, Sue Pearman, Nan Murdoch, David Harris, Glyn and Louise Jones. Stars, all of you! Thanks are also due to Councillor Susan Maxwell, who devised the clues with Reg the dog! Winners of the berries were the Harris family and the Arrowsmith family and the winner of the tote bag was ‘Gaynor’.

After expenses, the event made a total of £365 which will go a long way to helping the Group in its efforts to protect the village during flood events.

We hope to do further community events as lockdown restrictions allow so keep an eye out here, in the Newsletter, on Next Door and on Bodenham Watch Facebook as well as on notice boards. We will advertise anywhere! Meanwhile, if we have inspired you to want to join us in our flood protection work, please contact the Secretary, Debby House for more details - secbfpg@gmail.com
