Bodenham Christian Fellowship (Events)

We are a group of Christians from different Christian denominations who have joined together in Fellowship. We believe that the time we spend together in the Lord’s presence should be relevant, practical, informal and suitable for all age groups, and that through these times together we should encourage each other to develop a deeper and closer relationship with our Lord.
Our services and meetings are open to all, so why not join with us at the Fellowship Centre (Chapel) for one of these activities during the month. You will be made very welcome.
Children are welcome at our meetings and crèche facilities are available on request. Transport can be provided on request. If you are unable to join with us, but would like a visit from one of our members, please let us know.

Bodenham Christian Fellowship is a member church of ‘The Evangelical Alliance’ and ‘Churches Together in Hereford’.

For details of the fellowship and events check on the following web-site:

The Chapel can be made available for regular or occasional hire to organisations or individuals.
Charges are £7 per hour, £15 for 3 hour session, £25 per day.

Bodenham Ladies Bible Study (Events)

We are a group of ladies who meet at Bodenham Chapel on the 1st. and 3rd. Tuesday of each month from 10a.m. – 11.30am.

We meet to study and discuss a short passage from the Bible, in order to see how it affects our lives today.

Friendships are made, as we enjoy coffee/tea and cake together!

Please come and join us – you would be most welcome.

We would love to hear from you.

Bodenham Christian Fellowship - Mid-Week Meetings (Events)

AIM. The aim of our mid-week meetings is threefold:

1) To provide an opportunity for members of the Fellowship to meet each other informally in members’ homes together with visitors, friends and those who might be considering coming to join us on Sundays at the Chapel.
2) To provide an opportunity for us to study the foundation documents of our Faith found in the books of the Bible and to hear an occasional visiting speaker.
3) To provide an opportunity to share our joys and concerns in a time of informal open prayer together.

We try to be relaxed and welcoming, not expecting any particular level of Bible knowledge on the part of those who come. There will always be some teaching from the leader who has prepared beforehand, but the atmosphere is one of questions, discussion and encouraging people to speak from their experience and to put their viewpoint.

We appreciate that some people will only be able to attend from time to time because of other commitments and no pressure is put on folk to attend on a regular basis, though this may be the ideal for those who wish to do so.

Each member who is willing to do so takes it in turn to prepare the topic or Bible passage and to lead the discussion. This provides for a variety of approaches and sometimes notes or questions for discussion are provided.

MEETINGS. Meetings are held on Thursday evenings at 7.30 p,m. for a prompt start at 7.45 and finish at 9.15 p.m. Currently we rotate between three different homes, one in Bodenham, one in Urdimarsh and one in Risbury. For up to date details please contact either Peter Lefroy-Owen (see below) or Pat Horrigan at 01568-797044. The studies are interdenominational with members being drawn from a variety of denominational backgrounds. Approaches to the Biblical text are similarly varied, but in general we take a traditional and respectful (more conservative) attitude.

During any one year there are usually four separate series of studies. We tend to roughly follow the dates of school terms. The core series runs through the Autumn (Sep – Dec) for about twelve weeks. A shorter series follows in the Spring (Jan – Mar/Apr) followed by two more shorter series in the Summer (Apr/May – July). There is a break of one week at each half term, a break of three or so weeks at Christmas and Easter and no meetings in August or the beginning of September.

We vary the series to provide variety and interest. Again, the core tends to be a book of the Old or New Testament, but this is supplemented by topics or themes and an occasional visiting speaker or a video series.

THE PAST. The current cycle of studies has been running for ten years during which time we have looked at 26 books of the Bible, in whole or in part, and about 12 series of special topics. Topics covered include two series on core Christian beliefs (doctrines); God’s concern for the Poor & God’s Justice; Great Prayers of the Bible; and ‘What is Man?’ on being a human being.

INVITATION. If you are reading this and interested to deepen your Christian faith, or if you are interested to explore further how the Christian faith helps to answer some of the great questions of life, please accept this invitation to email me or telephone Pat or myself to discuss the matter further and perhaps attend one or two of our mid-week meetings or our Sunday morning meeting for worship at the Chapel.

Café@chapel (Events)

This is an opportunity for anyone to call in for an informal chat over a cup of tea, coffee, etc on Thursday mornings at the Chapel.

The Chapel is open from 10.30am until noon and you are welcome to stay for as long or as little as you wish. No charge is made for refreshments though donations are welcome and are given to a charity at the end of each year.

We shall be grateful for any help in hosting these mornings.

This is a joint venture between St. Michael's Church, Bodenham and Bodenham Christian Fellowship and is hosted by members from both churches (and other local residents).
